Laverendrye Ramp Getting Braced

This is one of the 4 “interchanges” that the MTQ wants to replace with their Turcot plan. No doubt it needs some help, but they have been working on this for a while. Makes you wonder how much has been spent doing “forced” maintenance. Quebec lowballed the budget for freeway maintenance for 40 years and now we are paying the price bigtime! And of course one of the selling points of the MTQ plan is that it will have lower maintenance costs being mainly on ground. Totally laughable!
Through here you can see part of the industrial area of Cote Saint Paul, isolated because of freeways and the canal, sometimes called Yankee Village. It’s a strange mix of industry and housing where homeowners have fought for a fair deal for their properties without success.
