December 6, 1989

The words never come easy once a year as this date approaches. I never feel like anything I can possibly say could even pretend to possibly give a little perspective on this horrible, horrible thing that happened right here in Montreal.

At the time the shooting began I was sitting in a classroom at Concordia Fine Arts finishing off some wine and reflecting on what an awesome semester it had been. On the other side of the mountain 14 young woman students at Universite de Montreal didn’t get that luxury as their lives were ending at that moment.

All I feel I can do is remember them and try to do a little something that goes towards making sure that this sort of tragic insane thing never happens again.
