Some Modern Elegance

Towards the end of the season things had grown thickly at Turcot. The stretch above would have been quite wild had CN not kept the growth cut back along the tracks and the cutters would sweep wide on the right side because that area could occasionally be used as a storage spot for small equipment or materials – there was once a train full of railroad ties parked here for a week or more. The traffic is not nearly as loud as you might think down here, perhaps moving in so many directions simultaneously a lot gets canceled out, or maybe sound rises? In winter the track would be a walking path with a similar wide sweep along there. That little creek on the left would manage to stay moist almost all year.
