Hole in Turcot Yards Not Part Of New Interchange

Transport Quebec said Monday that a large hole that is being dug in the Turcot Yards, west of downtown, has nothing to do with the mega-project to demolish the aging Turcot Interchange and rebuild it.

Transport Quebec spokesperson Réal Grégoire said workers have started to decontaminate the soil at the site of the department’s future operations headquarters in the Turcot Yards.

Transport Quebec’s current headquarters are located in the area, but near the de la Verendrye exit.

Transport Quebec plans to spend $1.5 billion rebuilding the Turcot complex, the tangle of highways, interchanges and access ramps connecting highways 15, 20 and 720.
