“City Spending $300,000 To Turn Dump Into Park”

That would be the Falaise Saint Jacques getting a much needed makeover. Article from the Gazette archives in 1982 features the then assistant director of public works, Pierre Bourque, discussing the ugliness of the dump. Ironically, many years later, as mayor, Pierre Bourque would get the idea to build a garbage transfer depot under the Turcot Interchange. Of course, he also once promised to run the Blue Line to Pointe Claire.
