The POPIR and the residents on Cazelais are organizing a fax campaign this week. They are asking people to fax off a “notice of expropriation” (addressed to “occupant”) to Charest, Boulet and Beauchamp – informing them that if they do not cancel the expropriations and review the entire Turcot project before the 15th of December, they will themselves be expropriated (symbolically of course)!

Nous souhaitons profiter du momentum : le BAPE a confirmé ce que presque tous les mémoires disaient (incluant la Ville de Montréal et la DSP), les expropriations ne sont pas nécessaires.
Pour que le Conseil des Ministres ne soit pas tenté d’autoriser des travaux, ce qui déclencherait le processus d’expropriation, nous vous invitons à envoyer un “avis d’expropriation”, entre le mardi 24 et le jeudi 26 novembre, aux 3 principaux ministres concernés.

Even though the invitation was to fax the notices of expropriation between the 23rd and 26th, it certainly can’t hurt to do so after those dates as well…I’d like to be a fly on the wall the respective minister’s offices to see the reaction as the fax machines churn out expropriation notices!
Yea, I got that up a tad late but hopefully people will just carry on! Fly on wall indeed.
