MONTREAL – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 27-year-old man who vanished from a restaurant in Old Montreal over the weekend.
Matthew Besner was eating at the restaurant on St. Alexis St., near Notre Dame St., on Saturday evening when he went outside. He never returned to the table, said police, and left all of his personal items behind.
People who took part in a search for Besner in Old Montreal Monday morning were using L’Orignal as a place to get information and pick up posters with his photo on it to distribute around Old Montreal. A representative from the resataurant said that the location for this has moved to 60 De Bresoles St., apartment 302, which is in Old Montreal and located near the restaurant.
Besner was wearing a black Canada Goose coat when he disappeared, along with a black long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
He is described as 5-foot-9 and 189 pounds, with light brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact police on their confidential Infocrime line at 514-393-1133.
